Press Gazette has been showcasing some of the best journalism to come out of the coronavirus crisis with the Twitter hashtag #JournalismMatters. They've featured exclusives and investigations, breaking news and live blogs, podcasts and innovations. Topping their list of the best in data journalism is 'Coronavirus Tracked''from the Financial Times's data team (we love it). Other projects featured are from The South China Morning Post, The Economist, The Guardian, and The Times and Sunday Times.

Programmatic ad auctions, beset by lower advertiser demand and higher traffic, are delivering CPMs down by 10% to 20%. Publishers are taking inventory off the table to bolster prices.

Dr Richard Horton, editor-in-chief of The Lancet says the world famous weekly medical journal published published two scientific papers on COVID-19 in January but no one asked for their view.

Bucking the trend, which analysts Enders says will see U.K. newspapers and magazines lose £750 million in ad revenue and £150 million in print sales this year, Wired's diversified revenue strategy will show growth this year.
